About Global Pitch

Global Pitch Russia is a pitching event in Silicon Valley for the fastest growing Russian tech startups with global potential.

Our goal is to help the most promising teams increase their visibility among top-tier US VCs and to attract investments for scaling to the US market. Global Pitch will cover travel and accommodation expenses of the participants.

The event is organized by IIDF and Fortross Ventures.

Conditions and timeline

21 Nov
Russian tech startups with potential for scaling to the US market can apply to participate. We encourage you to answer all the questions in the application form in detail. It’s free to apply to pitch and it’s also free to present in the session (if selected). The application process includes two rounds. Finalists of the first round were announced at Russian Startup Go Global by IIDF (end of November 2017), and applications for the second round are currently open.
26 Feb
Deadline for applications to the second round. Experts from IIDF, Fortross Ventures and Sberbank will select the most promising and mature startups to move through to the next phase.
02 March
The finalists of the second round will be invited to the closed pitch session in Moscow.
05 March
Experts from IIDF, Fortross Ventures and Sberbank will select winners from the second round of applications at the closed pitch session.
IIDF, Fortross Ventures and Sberbank will announce the winners of Global Pitch Russia, who will then head to the USA.
mid. May
The winners arrive in Silicon Valley and prepare to pitch and network with investors, with the support of Silicon Valley experts. Travel and accommodation costs are covered for startup founders and team members (up to 2 people).
mid. June
The participants will pitch their startups in Silicon Valley in front of top-tier US investors and receive feedback on their businesses.

Sharpen your pitch at closed session

The selected teams will pitch their startups to investors from FortRoss Ventures, IIDF and experts from Sberbank on March 1st. The participants of the pitch session will receive valuable feedback from the jurors.

If you don’t happen to get selected to participate in the Global Pitch in Silicon Valley, don’t worry! You’ll still receive valuable feedback from industry experts and get noticed by investors.


IIDF is the most active early stage fund in Russia and Europe according to Dow Jones. The fund manages $100M (6bn RUB) and invests between $35k (pre-seed) and $95M (growth fund). IIDF closes more than 100 IT startup deals each year, constituting 80% of Russian early-stage venture capital market.
Fortross Ventures (former MoneyTime Ventures) is an early growth stage VC backed by top Russian corporations and opens doors to Russia, CIS, CEE and Turkey consumer markets and commercial companies for its portfolio companies. Invests in US, Israel and Russia in B rounds onwards in selected areas: AI, IOT, FinTech, MarketPlaces and Cloud.
